    Susunia Hills - Susunia, the second highest hill of Bankura, famous for rock climbing and trekking, attracts people to see the ‘Dhara’ (Natural Spring) and Silialipi. This spring is considered holy by the locals. There is also an ancient carved stone called ‘Narasingha stone’ standing at the point where the spring water comes out. The hill with a height of 1442 feet spans nearly two miles. The site also features the stone inscription belonging to King Chandravarman.

     

    Biharinath Hill - Biharinath Hill, located on the northern part of the Saltora Block, has the highest altitude in the district. It stands as a guard to the north-western border at a distance of 57 km from Bankura district. The hill has a height of 1469 feet and is believed to be an age-old centre of Jainism. Varieties of flora and fauna are found in the region. Especially some rare wild animals like pangolin, hyena, racaphorus and chameleon are still found in the area. The place is also known for its natural beauty.

     

    Garh Darwaja - Garh Darwaja is a terracotta gateway situated in Bankura near Bishnupur, a destination famous for its terracotta masonry. Built during the rule of the Malla Kings, this gateway is also known as the Chota Patthar Darwaja or Small Gateway of Bishnupur. Found overlooking the famous Radhakrishna Lalji Temple, Garh Darwaja is an arched terracotta structure with a plain exterior. At a short distance from this gateway lies another gateway which is larger in size and is known as the Bara Patthar Darwaja or Main Gateway of Bishnupur. Currently this gateway is not protected by the ASI and is thus not well maintained. Tourists can also do shopping for terracotta pottery, artefacts, jewellery and Balucheri saris close to this site.

     

    Amarkanan and Koro Hill - Koro hill with a height of 400 feet is a popular tourist spot, located at a distance of 19 km from Bankura. There is also a temple of Savitri Devi on the top of the hill. Amarkanan is a village, developing into a semi-town, located at the foot of Koro Hill.

     

    Siddheswar Temple - The Siddheswar Temple located in the Onda region of Bankura district is chiefly known for its design. The temple was constructed prior to the Muslim era and is an age-old construction, built more than thousand years ago.

     

    Gangdoha - Gangdoha, situated at a distance of 28 km from Bankura and 9 km from Koro Hill, features a water reservoir, built just behind the Sali River. The region covered with fields and bushes is a popular picnic spot.

     

    Ganesh and Nandi Statue - The statues of Ganesh and Nandi at Sarengarh in Bankur district is a popular tourist destination of the state. These statues were a part of an ancient temple, which was gradually submerged. There is only a heap of mud containing the ruins of the temple at present. The statues of Ganesh and Nandi were shifted from the ruins to the current site by the Archaeological Survey of India. The antique style of sculpture can be clearly noted in these statues. This place is free from pollution of the city and the smell of mud here will surely enchant the visitors. Bankura is a photogenic town with many sightseeing options - Shyam Rai temple, Rasmancha, Garh Darwaja, Mukutmonipur dam, Biharinath hills, Gum Garh Execution site and Siddheshwar temple being some of them.
