    Kurisumala - Kurisumala Hill is situated about 5 km away from Vagamon and is considered to be an important religious centre for Christians. There is a church located at the top of this hill, which has fourteen crosses on its pathway. Devotees carry small wooden crosses during the holy week, while climbing the Kurisumala Hill. To the east of this church is another hill, known as the Murugan Mala, which has a rock cut temple devoted to Lord Murugan. While climbing the hill, devotees can see an old European house and an artificial lake that were designed by Laurie Baker.  Many tea estates and dense forests are located nearby, that are suitable for camping and trekking.

     

    Thangal Hill - Thangal Hill is an important religious site near Vagamon. It is famous for the burial chamber of Sufi saint, Sheikh Fariduddin. This hill is covered with grasslands, meadows and dense pine forests.

     

    Barren Hills - Barren Hills is situated in Kolahalamedu, which is around 10 km away from the Vagamon town. The best time to visit this hilly region, is during the months of December and January. This region is also suitable for enjoying trekking, rock climbing, birdwatching and paragliding.

     

    Mundakayam Ghat - Mundakayam Ghat is situated about 8 km away from Vagamon and is famous for the paragliding festival, organised by ASSTA (Adventure Sports and Sustainable Tourism Academy), Kerala. It is one of the low lying areas in the state, ideal for birdwatching.

     

    Murugan Mala - Murugan Mala is a small hill situated on the eastern side of Kurisumala. The temple of Lord Murugan, situated on this hill, was constructed using a single rock. It is also known as the Murugan Para and is situated about 8 km away from the town of Vagamon.

     

    The Pattumalai Church - Pattumalai Church is located on the Pattumala Hill, which lies in the Peermade region of the Idukki District. The name Pattumala means, ‘the hill with silk’. The Pattumalai Church is dedicated to St. Mary, who is also known as Velankanni Matha. It is a replica of the church located at Velankanni in Kerala.
