    Palaruvi Waterfall - The Palaruvi Waterfall is located close to Thenmala. The literal meaning of Palaruvi is ‘stream of milk’. This waterfall drops from an elevation of 300 ft. The best time to visit the waterfall is between the months of June and January.

     

    Thenmala dam - The Thenmala Dam is considered to be one of the longest reservoirs and popular picnic spots in Kerala. This dam was constructed under the Kallada Irrigation and Tree Crop Development Project. It has been built near the confluence of Chenduruney, Kazhuthurutty and Kulathupuzha rivers. The confluence forms a lake which is around 26 sq km in area. Boating can be enjoyed in the nearby reservoir. 

     

    Musical Dancing Fountain - The Musical Dancing Fountain is one of the prime attractions of the culture zone located at Thenmala. A synchronised rhythmic ballet of water and sound attracts several tourists to this fountain.

     

    Suspension Bridge - The Suspension Bridge is a 400 ft long bridge situated in Punalur Town. This bridge was constructed across the Kallada River during 1877-78 under the supervision of Prince Henry of Scotland.

     

    Madathara - Madathara is a village situated in the vicinity of Thenmala. The nearby Tropical Botanic Garden of India, Forest Training School and Rocket Propulsion Centre at Valiyamala are some of the attractions.

     

    Nakshatravanam - Nakshatravanam is a nursery of trees, maintained by the Thenmala Eco-tourism Society. According to astrologers, each tree is associated with a star that can bring good fortune for an individual. Some of the trees like the Nux vomica, Indian gooseberry, cluster fig and jamun are related to different constellations, such as the Aswathy, Bharani, Karthika and Rohini respectively. These trees possess high medicinal, aesthetic and economic value.

     

    Aryankavu Shastha Temple - The Aryankavu Shastha Temple, dedicated to Lord Ayyappa, is constructed about 35 ft below the level of the road. Many sculptures and mural paintings can be seen within the premises of the temple.

    According to legend, the idol in this temple was installed by Pandi Raja of Madurai. The major festivals celebrated at this temple are Mandala Puja and Thrikalyanam. The Palaruvi Waterfall is a popular tourist attraction located near the temple.

     

    Kulathuppuzha Sastha Temple - The Kulathuppuzha Sastha Temple is an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Ayyappa. This temple was established by the Raja of Pandalam and has an idol of Manikantan. From April through May, a fair known as the Vishu Mahotsavam is organised at the temple.
