    Zoji-La Pass - It is enclosed by the Drass Valley, snow-capped peaks, Valley of Kashmir and dense forests. This pass can be visited during the late spring months, as it remains closed for the rest of the year due to heavy rains. Zoji-La Pass is situated around 3,465 m above sea level in the Himalayan Ranges. This pass is popular as a gateway to Ladakh and is considered as one the most dangerous passes in the entire Kashmir Valley.

     

    Amarnath - As per the legend, Lord Shiva narrated stories behind the construction of this cave and explained various secrets of his life to Goddess Parvathi. This ancient cave is located at an altitude of about 3,888 m and is around 5,000 years old. It has ice formations, denoting Goddess Parvathi and Lord Ganesha along with a Shiva Linga. Amarnath is one of the most popular sacred places in India. It is situated at an elevation of around 4,175 m in the Himalayas. This pilgrimage centre is popular for the holy cave of Amaranth, which is believed to be the home of Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvathi and Lord Ganesha.

     

    Yushmarg - Yushmarg is counted among the famous picnic spots of Jammu and Kashmir. This place is surrounded by dense forests and offers amazing views of the snow-capped mountains. Some of the nearby attractions are the TattaKutti Peak and Sang Safed Peak. 

     

    Nilagrad River - Nilagrad River is a mountain river that joins the Indus River at the Baltic Colony. As per a common belief, the red-water of this river is known to have curative properties. The Krishnasar Lake and Vishansar Lake are located nearby.

     

    Charari- Sharief - Charari-Sharief is located around 13 km away from Yushmarg. It is the shrine of Kashmir’s patron saint Sheikh Noor-ud-din, also known as Nund Rishi. This shrine was reconstructed after the fire accident of 1994.

     

    Baltal - Baltal, on the shores of the Sindh River, is located around 15 km away from the north of Sonamarg. This small valley is a famous camping ground.

     

    Gadsar Lake - Gadsar Lake is located 5,000 m above sea level, in the Himalayan Ranges. It is considered as one of the highest altitude lakes in the Kashmir region. This lake is famous as trekking base, which can be reached through the alpine trek. Brown-trout fishing is a popular activity among the tourists visiting this lake.

     

    Gangabal Lake - The major attraction is the annual fair organised in the 3rd week of August. This place is considered holy among the Kashmiri Hindus. The lake is ideal for fishing, between the months of March and October. Gangabal Lake is considered as one of the sources of the River Jhelum. It is located at an altitude of 3,570 m on the Harmukh Peak and is popularly known as the Harmukh Ganga.

     

    Vishansar Lake - Vishansar Lake is one of the lakes situated in Sonamarg that can be visited during the months of April through June. It is accessible from the Nichinai Pass, another attraction located at an elevation of 4,084 m. 

     

    Nichinai Pass - Nichinai Pass, located at an elevation of around 4,139 m, is a trekking base. Lakes such as the Vishansar and Krishnasar can be seen from this pass.  

     

    Satsar Lake - Satsar Lake is at a height of 3,600 m above sea level. The whole region is surrounded by trees and beautiful alpine flowers
