    Jhoola Devi Temple - According to a mythology, this temple was built to seek Durga’s protection for the wild animals in the place. The idol of Goddess Durga is said to have been excavated by a shepherd from a particular spot after being guided so by the goddess herself in his dream. This temple is made on the same spot from where this idol was obtained. A Rama Mandir dedicated to Lord Rama also resides atop this Jhoola Temple, on the Kumaon Hill. The Jhoola Devi Temple of Ranikhet is an ancient temple built in the 8th century, situated at 7 km from the town. The main deity of this temple is Goddess Durga and is a believed at this temple, that Jhoola Devi has the powers to fulfil the wishes of all her devotees. The temple houses a cluster of holy bells tied to its walls that are known for granting wishes on being ringed. The clangs of these bells are heard till a very long distance.

     

    Chaubatia - Chaubatia Orchard is situated at 10 km from the town of Ranikhet. This orchard comprises more than 200 varieties of fruits and flowers. A research laboratory is also situated within its premises. Along with this, the surroundings of this place provides panoramic views of the snow clad mountain peaks of Himalayas, as well as  a few religious spots like Nanda Devi Temple, Trishul, Nandaghunti, and Nilkanth. The GD Birla Memorial School is also located in proximity to this place.

     

    Kumaon Regimental Centre Museum and Memorial - Apart from the memorial, this centre also comprises a museum. This museum was built here in 1978, with the motive of preserving and exhibiting legacy and customs of the Kumaon Region. The Kumaon Regimental Centre Museum and Memorial was built in Ranikhet in 1974, as a symbol of bravery and sacrifice made by soldiers of the place. This memorial towers the famous Somnath Ground. The young soldiers from all over the world take the pledge of loyalty to their motherland at this memorial. To commemorate the sacrifice of soldiers, a parade is also held here every year.

    Rani Jheel - The Rani Jheel of Ranikhet is significant with the identity of this town. It is a large artificial lake built between two natural bridges of this town namely Canossa Convent School and Kendriya Vidyalaya. This Jheel (small lake) was built by the Cantonment board for the purpose of rain water harvesting.

    Dwarahat - Dwarahat is a historical village situated at 38 km from the town of Ranikhet. This place was also the capital of the Katyuri Kingdom as well as a power centre for the Katyuri rulers in the 16th century. Its main attraction includes ancient temples like Badnirath, Maniyan, Mrityunjaya, Dhwaj and Kachri Devtas. The Syalde-Bikhauti fair held here every year in April, is also a prominent tourist attraction of the place.
