    KedarnathMandir - It is believed to have been constructed by AdiShankaracharya and consists of more than 200 idols of Lord Shiva. According to mythology, the Pandavas tried to seek redemption from Lord Shiva by performing an absolution in Kedarnath. Deities and stories sculpted on the walls of the temple can be seen by tourists.KedarnathMandir is situated near the Mandakini River and is one of the PanchKedars. The temple has a Shivalinga which is considered as one of the 12 Jyotirlingas. The structure of the temple is in the pyramidal form. The temple is situated in the middle of the Himalayan ranges.

     

    Chandrashila - Chandrashila is the summit of mountain where TungnathMandir and Chopta are situated. Visitors can enjoy the view of snow covered mountains including Kedar, Nandadevi, Chaukhamba and Trishul peaks from Chandrashila. The place is famous among tourists for trekking, though visitors are not allowed to trek from the onset of winter.

     

    Ukhimath - Ukhimath village is situated in Rudraprayag and is named as the winter seat of Lord Kedarnath. During winters, Lord Kedarnath is worshipped at this site because of the heavy snowfall in Kedarnath during winters. In addition, Ukimath houses the temple of Shiva and Parvati as well as that of Usha and Anirudh.

     

    KanchulaKorak Musk Deer Sanctuary - KanchulaKorak Musk Deer Sanctuary is another prominent attraction situated in Chopta-Gopeshwar road. It extends over an area of 5 sq. km. and houses rare Himalayan wildlife. The sanctuary is known for breeding musk deer and has dense forest and diverse species of fauna.

     

    RudranathMandir - RudranathMandir is a rock temple that is located in the Chamoli District nearby Chopta village. One of the PanchKedars, Lord Shiva is worshipped as Neelkanth in this temple. Vaitrani River also known as the 'Water of Salvation' flows behind the Rudranath Temple. Numerous kunds can be seen by travellers nearby the temple, namely the Tarakund and the Suryakund. The Anusuya Devi Temple also lies in the vicinity of the RudranathMandir. Travellers can see various peaks like Nandadevi, Trishuli and HathiParvat from this temple. The RudranathMandir remains closed during winters due to heavy snowfall.

     

    KalpeshwarMandir - The temple tree Kalpavriksha acts as a perfect spot for sages for meditating. According to the mythology, Sage Arghya had produced a nymph named Urvashi at this site. It is believed that Rishi Durvasa also meditated under Kalpavriksha. KalpeshwarMandir can be easily reached from Helang that is at a distance of 11 km.KalpeshwarMandir is visited to worship Lord Shiva as 'Jatadhar', because of the existence of entwined hair. It is situated at a height of 2,134 m above the sea level in Chamoli district. This is the only temple out of the five temples of PanchKedar that remains open in all the seasons.

     

    MadhyamaheshwarMandir - The temple has been constructed in North Indian architectural style. Visitors can see the Neelkanth and Kedarnath peaks from the site and the junction of Madmaheshwar-Ganga nearby the temple draws attention of many travellers. MadhyamaheshwarMandir, also known as Madmaheshawar, is situated at an elevation of around 3,200 m above sea level. At this site, the stomach of Lord Shiva is worshipped by the devotees. The temple from the right side is surrounded by the snow covered Himalayas, and from the left, it is encircled by the green alpine meadows.
