    Baijnath - The old temple of Shiva is famous for the idol of Goddess Parvati. Another very important temple is the Kotkimai temple, located around 8 km from Baijnath. On the way to the main temple, there is another temple of Bamani with an idol of Shiva. The main temple is devoted to Baijnath or Vaidhyanatha (another name of Shiva). The temple can be accessed by the stairs made of stones which were constructed by Katyuri Queen.Baijnath is located about 26 km from Bageshwar and is an important place both in terms of religion and history. It is situated on Gwaldam motor road, on the banks of river Gomti in Katyuri Valley. This place was once the capital of Katyuri dynasty and the ancient temples of the place are witness to that era.

     

    Bagnath Temple - The temple of Bagnath was built by the Chand Dynasty rulers in 1602A.D. Ever year, a fair takes place on the day of Shivratri. This temple is also visited by large number of devotees every month, mainly during the time of ‘Shravan’.  The place Bageshwar has derived its name from an old temple of Lord Shiva located in the middle of the town. Legends and myths say that sage Markandey was once visited by Lord Shiva in the form of a tiger.

     

    Vijaypur - Vijaypur is located around 30 km from Bageshwar town and offers panoramic views of the snow capped Himalayan range.

     

    Kanda - Located at a height of 1500-1900 m above sea level, this hill station is surrounded by terraced fields and mountains. According to ancient legends, older inhabitants of this place lived in a local caste named Kanyal.Kanda is located around 25 km from Bageshwar and is a beautiful site on Bageshwar Chaukori road. Kanda has derived its name from this caste and mostly attracts nature lovers. Temple of Bhadrakali is also located very close by.

     

    Chandika Temple - The temple is dedicated to Goddess Chandika and is located near the town of Bageshwar. Chandika Temple attracts a number of devotees during the ‘Navratras’.

     

    Shri Haru Temple - It is a widely popular belief among the people that the temple deity grants all the wishes of those who pray with complete dedication.This temple is located around 5 km from Bageshwar town and organises a large fair on the occasion of ‘Vijay Dashmi’ at the temple premises.

     

    Gauri Udiyar - Gauri Udiyar is located some 8 km from Bageshwar. There is a huge cave here that has the old idols of Lord Shiva. The cave measures approximately 20 by 95 sq m.

     

    Pandustal - This place offers great views of the Himalayas. Tourists can avail bus services from Garur to Jakheda and then a 20 km trekking through the mountain will lead to Pandustal.Legends say that Pandustal was one of the battlegrounds of the 'Pandavas' and the 'Kauravas'. There is also a natural ground that is half a kilometre in breadth.
